About the Winter Wonderland Middle School Semi Formal

“Winter Wonderland”
A Middle School Semi-Formal for grades 6-8

6-9pm, Doors open at 5:30pm

    Tickets for this event will be $40 for HOME members and $50 for non-HOME members.  Tickets may be purchased on HOME’s website, www.nchomegroup.org,  by clicking the “Winter Wonderland Middle School Semi Formal Tickets” button on the public or private homepage.There you will be able to fill out the Semi-Formal Information Form. If you have more than one student attending, you may include multiple children on one form. Once you submit your information form you will be able to purchase your Semi-Formal ticket(s).  Feel free to share this information with your other homeschool friends! Ticket sales will end Wednesday January 22nd, with no exceptions. All ticket sales are final. There will be no refunds. We have a maximum capacity of 70 attendees.

    Doors will open at 5:30pm at which time you may sign in and drop off your middle schooler and dinner will begin promptly at 6pm. There will be dancing after dinner. There will be many parent chaperones at the event to ensure your child’s safety and to enforce all Dress Code and Code of Conduct guidelines. Please plan to  sign out and pick up your child promptly at 9pm.

Dress Code
Please note that if your student’s dress/outfit does not meet the rules listed below they will be denied entry with no refund. If you are unsure whether your student is in compliance with the dress code please send a picture of the attendee in the dress/outfit to Jessica Burdette at (910)215-4024.

Ladies  
When deciding on a dress/outfit, please keep in mind that semi-formal attire is like something you would wear to a special event at church or to a wedding.

Dresses may go no higher than 2 inches above the knee
No slits in the back or sides of the dress can go higher than 2 inches above the knee
Dresses need to be modestly cut in the front and in the neckline. Please no plunging necklines.
Dresses may not be backless.
No 2 piece outfits that expose the midriff.
No undergarments may show.
No strapless dresses or tops.
Shoes are required.

Gentlemen
Dress pants, button-up dress shirt and tie or bow tie are required.
No sagging pants are allowed. Please use a belt if necessary.
Suit coats/jackets are preferred but not required.
Shoes are required.


Code of Conduct
All rules outlined in the HOME Code of Conduct, which can be found on our website, apply to this event.  In addition to the HOME Code of Conduct, please be aware of the following rules:

1. Dance Etiquette and Behavior
Parents, we want you to know that we have been in communication with our DJ and have specifically requested group oriented, line dance type songs. With that said, please note the following rules:
No body against body
No groping
No provocative movements

2. Attendees are not allowed to go outside the venue unless specifically directed by chaperones. All students will be signed in at the beginning of the event and signed out at the end of the event.

If a student is in violation of the Code of Conduct, their parent will be contacted to come and get them. No refund will be issued.
